If you’ve been taking both these meds for over a year and are just now (recently) feeling like this, then it’s probably not the meds. You could need an antidepressant.

Get off of the Meds! Get over your problem and come back to reality. The Dr.’s are making crazy money off of people. They are ripping us off big time. There are more natural ways to deal with things.
The drugs lorazepam (ativan) and Chlordiazepoxide (librax) are both in the benzodiazepine family of drugs. The chances are very high that you suffering the adverse effects of tolerance and dependence (addiction), to these drugs. Depression is a well known side effect especially from long term use of benzodiazepine sedative hypnotic drugs. They are very destructive drugs and doctors are recommended to only prescribe them for 2 – 4 weeks only. Read this medical study http://www.benzo.org.uk/ashbzoc.htm and you will see that long term users became suicidal and depressed as well as many other symptoms like muscular and agorophobia etc but became better after withdrawing from the pills within a year.

Whatever you do, DO NOT stop taking these drugs cold turkey. You can suffer seizures and psychosis which can be life threatening and a cold turkey from these types of drugs can take months and months and even years to get over of. It really shocks the body. They must be gradually discontinued if that is what you decide to do, over a period of months and months. You will regret it if you decide to cold turkey them.

Of course I do not know you, but I know the pills you are taking, only too well. Been on them myself for 5 years. The addiction to them is similar to alcohol. They will change your personality, make you depressed. I bet your short term memory and concentration is affected. That is very common. Brain fog is common as well. Blunted emotions etc and the list goes on.
I wish I didn’t know your drugs personally but I do.
